The Moon Shines on Chang’an Once More

The moon shines over Chang’an, and history turns full circle. In 210 BCE, Qin Shi Huang dies at Sand Dune during his eastern inspection tour. Zhao Gao, Prefect of the Palace Carriages, and Chancellor Li Si conspire to forge an edict, enthroning the young Hu Hai as the Second Emperor and ordering Prince Fusu and General Meng Tian to die. Reborn, Fusu does not take his own life. Instead, he chooses patience and concealment, making the northern Great Wall army his foundation as he quietly builds his power along the frontier. For three years, he repels the Xiongnu’s incursions south while establishing farms, training troops, and developing the northern lands, all as he waits for the right moment. When the Qin Empire teeters on the brink of collapse, Fusu leads the northern army south and rallies the realm in the name of the First Emperor’s eldest son. He first incorporates the remnants of the Qin army and stabilizes Guanzhong, then sweeps aside rival warlords, reunifies the realm, and establishes a new Great Qin Empire.
