From Brothel Worker to Official Fortune in Great Yong

Transmigration into another body | an underdog’s rise | intrigue among the common folk | business in an ancient setting | humorous survivalist schemes | court politics

After transmigrating into another body, office drone Chen Shi finds himself demoted to a lowly male servant in a Yangzhou brothel.

When a fallen noblewoman is about to be humiliated, he risks everything to save her.

He won’t take the imperial examinations, and he has no peerless martial arts to rely on.

But whenever he meets a woman suffering hardship, he’s willing to lend a hand: sisters struggling in the red-light district, concubines pushed aside in wealthy households, and fallen noblewomen left to wander with nowhere to turn.

His sincerity earns their support, and a host of older sisters help make connections, bringing him one opportunity after another.

He starts out as a lowly brothel worker, then gets adopted by a wealthy merchant through a stroke of luck. While building a fortune through business, he also navigates the gentry and officials of one region after another.

He makes his way across the court and countryside of the Great Yong Dynasty, mastering the game of human relations. Once a nobody struggling in the mud, he rises to prominence at court and enjoys a smooth ascent through the ranks.
