Lin Yue, 26, is a UI designer at an internet company. His dream is to be a quiet, laid-back slacker.
One morning, he is forcibly bound to something calling itself the "Forced to Clock In System." The rules are simple, and absolutely ridiculous: the first person to speak to him each day randomly determines his superpower for that day, and the stronger the power, the more outrageous the price.
His roommate casually tells him to get up, and he gains a "Gentle Aura," but his strength is cut in half, so he can't even unscrew a bottle cap.
His boss tells him to hurry up with a proposal, and he gains "Time Stop," but his EQ drops to zero, and he announces in front of the whole company that his boss's wig is crooked.
The female supervisor he's secretly in love with asks if he wants coffee, and he gains "Mind Reading," but suffers from ringing ears for three days. He also hears her thinking, "He's kind of cute..."
Everyone who triggers his powers is just an ordinary coworker, neighbor, delivery worker, or family member. Yet their everyday remarks inadvertently activate "fragments of rules" from countless parallel worlds, including cultivation, apocalyptic, and sci-fi worlds.
Once he collects 50 kinds of fragments, the rift in the multiverse will be repaired.
And Lin Yue, as the only "anchor," will suffer the backlash: he may disappear, be forgotten, or become someone else.
But all he wants is to get off work on time every day.
Yet the first person to speak to him each day never gives him a choice.
