"Yan Gui Lu" is a novel about the silk trade war with the background from the Republic of China to New China. The story spans more than a hundred years from the late Qing Dynasty to modern times, telling the legendary experience of four generations of the Pei family in Shengze, Suzhou (Pei Jintang → Pei Wenyuan → Pei Yunzhou → Pei Chengzu) engaged in the silk industry.
The protagonist Pei Yunzhou lost his father at the age of seven and grew up in a pavilion.
