Snow Returns to Dust

This is a revenge story in the guise of a xianxia tale, but at its heart, I want to write about a tender, tragic world.

The protagonist walks a path bent under the weight of fate, a road that has crushed millions. His own life isn't all that hard. The ones who truly suffer are the people who shield him from the storms and light his long nights, only to disappear quietly along the way, one after another.

They lay down their lives to build the steps he climbs, and he doesn't even get the chance to look back.

Dedicated to everyone still gritting their teeth and pressing on.

And to those who once quietly sheltered you from the wind, before you had the chance to say thank you.

They are still with you.

Remember that.
