During the summer break of her sophomore year, Lin Jianxia signed up for a teaching certificate exam and accidentally ended up on a dating reality show. She thought she’d just coast through the show and hide in her room to study. Then, on the very first day, she met the person who made her heart flutter.
While everyone else dated, she did practice problems. While they wrote love letters, she wrote lesson plans. While they watched the sunset, her brain automatically supplied, “Proof of the uniqueness of the limit of a function.”
Then one person sat across from her and started drawing on her cup. She drew a tree, and he added a leaf. She drew a cloud, and he added a raindrop. She wrote “In progress,” and he drew a question mark. After forty days, her cup was covered in drawings, while his remained blank.
She asked him, “Which city will you go to?”
He said, “I haven’t decided yet.”
She said, “Tell me when you have. I’ll come to you.”
This summer, she did three things: signed up, took the exam, and made someone remember her.
P.S. It seems like studying for the teaching certificate made her lose her mind.
