In an age when martial arts reign supreme and high-level martial prowess is commonplace, the cities are ruled by the martial way.
Shen Yan has only just begun his martial journey when he hits a wall at the first level of Martial Apprentice.
His peerless innate martial bone, a gift he was born with, has been completely sealed by ancient forbidden runes.
His vital energy cannot grow, and there is no way to temper his bones. From the very start, he is trapped in a desperate struggle for survival.
The only way to break through is to find the fragments of primordial essence scattered across the world and undo the shackles on his bones, inch by inch.
But no one knows that, deep in the shadows of this bustling city, the transnational dark martial arts organization Underworld Hall has been lying low for years.
The day his innate martial bone is revealed will be the day an endless hunt begins.
Geniuses clash, factions scheme, and assassins lurk all around.
Shen Yan conceals his strength among ordinary people, endures on the arena, and advances one careful step at a time, defying the shackles on his bones to forge his own path.
When the forbidden runes are finally shattered and his martial bones resound once more
I will use my long-sealed martial bones to defy the heavens of the entire martial world!
