Not a wish-fulfillment story. Arena battles (What, those few chapters at the start don’t count?), upright values, a protagonist who grows over time, and transmigration.
Our protagonist, Zhang Xun, was just planning to meet his good buddy Zhang Hao for some barbecue when he got hit by a stroke of incredible luck on his way there.
When he woke up, it was the classic transmigration-into-an-arena setup, though it wasn’t a national-fortune scenario.
The arena’s rules were simple: battle giant monsters. Zhang Xun was representing the Dragon Kingdom (I originally wanted to use real names, but I was afraid the story would get banned), and several battles had already taken place. Now they were facing an opponent they couldn’t beat.
Gomora was badly wounded, Windom was about to be killed, and Baraba had already been killed.
But Zhang Xun wasn’t worried at all. Just as he’d guessed, he had acquired the System. From the start, his monsters’ power was instantly maxed out, and they gained their EX forms.
So he happily crushed the opposition. But if things really were that simple, then, as someone who isn’t much of a fan of wish-fulfillment stories, I’d never have written this. Because of a few problems later on, he lost the System, and his monsters returned to their ordinary forms.
Even so, he became Earth’s strongest Reionics and represented humanity in battles against aliens on another planet. He would become the successor to Reiblood and make Earth the number one planet in the universe!
For now, he’ll have to be an ordinary Reionics player, training and growing little by little before setting off on an adventure.
By the way, I still have my main novel to update, so the schedule for this one will depend on how things go. I hope someone reads it!
