I'm a Legitimate Tycoon, So Why Are All My Underlings Thugs?

Reborn in 1999, Qi Yuan takes over a washed-up gang on the brink of collapse.

Looking at his thousands of underlings, all they know how to do is fight and kill. Qi Yuan waves a hand. “Times have changed. Get them all into suits and come do internet business with me!”

To grow the company, he introduces KPIs and a cutthroat corporate culture.

He never expected these hardened thugs to take corporate management and turn it into a no-holds-barred reading comprehension exercise.

They launch a same-city delivery service. To avoid being late, employees drive dump trucks through rush-hour traffic, carving a path through the gridlock and scaring off every competitor.

They roll out online payments. When hackers strike, the risk control department crosses provincial borders overnight and sends the scammers and their servers straight to the bottom of the sea.

They start a fresh-food cold chain. A sword fanatic wielding an eight-sided Han sword personally scales the fish, ensuring every salmon cut is perfectly smooth.

A few years later, when Qi Yuan rings the bell on Nasdaq and establishes the world's largest internet empire,

Hong Kong's richest man and multinational tycoons tremble at the sight of a roomful of suited thugs. “What kind of background does he have? He's using physical force to crush us in business warfare!”

Qi Yuan pulls out the labor laws and explains helplessly to the reporters, “I'll say it again: we're a legitimate internet company. They're just exceptionally good at getting things done!”
