A hundred years ago, plague ravaged the border village of Luoxia, wiping out the entire population.
Two orphans tearfully parted at the village entrance. Seven-year-old Gu Yuan was forcibly taken away by an envoy from the Ten Thousand Demons Cavern, while six-year-old Jiang Ruoyun was taken in by an elder of the Qingyun Sect. One became the supreme ruler of the demonic path, the other the young sect master of the Qingyun Sect.
Word on the street said: Bloodmoon Demon Venerable Gu Yuan was cold-blooded and murderous, ruthless and cruel.
Word on the street said: Perfected Qingfeng Jiang Ruoyun was as gentle as jade, a paragon of refinement.
But the truth was
Demon Venerable Gu Yuan wore a silver mask, spoke with unfailing courtesy, and always held back a little. He was a gentleman raised in the demonic path.
Young Sect Master Jiang Ruoyun wore white as pure as snow, but lost all pretense the moment he opened his mouth. He was a foul-mouthed, roguish rascal with a soft heart, a little demon raised by the righteous path.
Neither knew that the other was the childhood friend they had lost a hundred years ago.
One thought the other had been dead for years.
The other thought his old friend was a great demon.
Until the day they ran into each other at the Yuelai Inn, where the three realms meet. Separated by a screen, they traded complaints about “that despicable fellow in the martial world”
One called the other “big meanie.”
The other dropped his cup.
When a righteous little demon meets a gentleman of the demonic path, will they cross blades, or will they finally call each other by the long-lost names “Little Taily”?
I picked this up on the recommendation list. This is my first time reading a fantasy genre. I love the clean and crisp writing! The words are very simple but the picture is full of meaning. Also, this character reversal is absolutely amazing. One thought that the other party was dead, and the other thought that the other party was a big devil, which instantly filled him with a sense of fate. Love watching it! Update soon!! Big update soon 😢
I found a particularly nice novel with vivid and three-dimensional characters.
I really like this contrast between the two protagonists! In the eyes of outsiders, the Demon Lord and Qingyun Shaozong are incompatible, but they are actually childhood friends who have been separated for hundreds of years, and their misunderstandings are very disturbing.
