Dragon and Phoenix Ring is a dramatic story. The play reflects the story of a young man and woman pursuing freedom and independence in marriage during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The actor Zhao Wenfang and the heroine Yang Xiuying of the play both come from scholarly families. Zhao Wenfang went to Hangzhou to take the exam, and Yang Xiuying fulfilled her vow at the temple fair. The two met by chance and fell in love, thus interpreting a story of love and hatred with ups and downs and full of suspense. In the end, the dragon and the phoenix appeared, the lovers finally got married, and it ended with a comedy and happy ending. The whole play takes the good and the evil as the main line, from the origin, development, climax to the end.
