Chen Xianye, nicknamed Sanmao, has nine older sisters, all of them doting beyond reason. They raised him from childhood, since their mother was finally free of the burden after giving birth to him. Their indulgence made him utterly lawless. No matter what he did, his nine sisters would clean up after him. Then gambling ruined the family: his father was angered to death, his wife ran off with their child, and several of his sisters got divorced because of him. He was left drowning in debt, but still refused to learn his lesson. Somehow, he picked up a few tricks and started cheating at casinos. After both his hands were chopped off, his sisters took him to the hospital. Seeing how haggard and aged they looked, and that none of them had a decent piece of clothing, he finally regretted what he had done. He died with tears of remorse, wishing he could have another life. Could he start over?
Except for the somewhat magical beginning, it's a great read.
I'm really afraid that one day I'll stop updating [face covering]
Except for the nonsense, a perfect refreshing article
I asked why it was so beautiful. It turned out to be written by an author I had read before.
