Siheyuan: Zhang Fan, Deputy Chief of Security, Sets Out on a Search

In early 1953, Zhang Fanxun transmigrates into the body of a seriously wounded battalion commander on the Korean battlefield. After returning to life in another body, he is assigned by Director Zhao of the Military Control Commission to serve as deputy head of security at the Hongxing Steel Rolling Mill, and given an apartment in the middle courtyard of the Hongxing Compound. Drawing on his status as a former battalion commander, he sees through Yi Zhonghai's hypocrisy and protects his own boundaries as well as those of the vulnerable residents. In a turbulent era, he extends the authority of the security office into every corner of the courtyard.
