Xu Su was an ordinary high school girl whose parents were dead, who had a little sister and a home of her own, and who lived a simple life of eating, sleeping, and taking care of her sister.

Then came the day when a blood-red sun hung in the sky and the world turned upside down. One by one, her classmates transformed into monsters right before her eyes, and it was as if the whole school had been kicked straight into hell.

Xu Su survived the disaster. She saw the dark side of the world that had always been kept hidden, and gained a mysterious power all her own. But at the same time, she lost her friends and family.

To take revenge on the one who caused it all, she joined S.D.S., a special organization dedicated to handling such incidents. She would hone herself into the sharpest of swords.

That was how things were supposed to go.

There was the gentle, accepting big sister in her team who was like a mom; the tsundere, sharp-tongued gaming addict who always showed her concern in her own way; the energetic, optimistic, athletic girl; and the expressionless girl with a strange accent who, in truth, had a whole world of inner thoughts… With their kindness, they slowly pulled Xu Su back from the abyss and lit in her heart a lamp called “protection.”

Looking at the growing number of people who mattered to her, Xu Su sighed softly. “I’ve never thought cutting down nightmares was fun.”
