Shigure Jaku, seventeenth head of the Jaku clan.
The clan has only three rules: never join the Demon Slayer Corps, never travel with others, and never draw your blade by moonlight.
Yet that night, he encountered Upper Rank Two, Douma, in the forest.
The instant an iron fan pierced his ribs, he used the sixteenth form of the Breath of Silent Hearing for the first time:
“I can see you, Douma. From the moment you were born, you were already empty.”
For the first time, Douma's smile froze.
And in the distance, a girl with a butterfly hair ornament hurried through the night toward them.
She later asked him, “Why are you always alone?”
He thought for a moment, then said, “Because seeing other people's pasts is painful.”
