An English Major Out of Work Transmigrates to Ancient Times and Becomes a Diplomat

[Romance included + light comedy]

[An English major’s working life in ancient times] Zhao Qingli, female, 22, graduated with an English degree from an ordinary second-tier university. She has certificates in English proficiency, teaching, and more, but became unemployed as soon as she graduated.

She sent out two hundred resumes. The only replies she got were from “Lewen Education” and “Your food delivery has arrived.”

Just when she was at her wits’ end, she transmigrated.

She landed in the Great Yan Dynasty and discovered that the language spoken by the envoys from the Western Regions had a bizarre connection to English.

And so

Her advanced English certificate became the highest-level translator qualification.

Her teaching certificate became a license to train officials.

Her resume-writing skills became the art of polishing memorials to the throne.

The English major who once couldn’t find a job was now Great Yan’s only “multidisciplinary diplomatic talent” at the Court of State Ceremonial.

When the envoys from the Western Regions tried to make things difficult for her, she smiled faintly and launched into fluent Shakespeare in a London accent.

The court officials: ??? Is she chanting a spell?

Only Xiao Jingyan, the cold and sharp-tongued vice minister of the Court of State Ceremonial, looked at her more and more strangely.

One day, he cornered her against a wall and asked in a low voice, “What exactly does ‘I love tiger oil’ that you taught me mean?”

Zhao Qingli: …Should I tell him the truth?
