The day Ji Yu returned from England, she could barely speak Chinese, and she was promptly thrown into Ning County No. 1 High School.
Her deskmate, Jiang Yu, was famous throughout the school for her icy expression. She climbed walls, got into fights, slept in class, and couldn't stand anyone, especially Ji Yu.

Later, when Jiang Yu climbed the wall to go fight, Ji Yu followed her. When family problems weighed Jiang Yu down until she could barely breathe, Ji Yu stayed by her side. She wasn't good with pretty words. All she could do was push over a cup of instant noodles and say, "Eat. Then you can cry."
Jiang Yu called her annoying, but ate every last noodle she'd been given.
Later still, Jiang Yu asked her, "Why do you always follow me?"
Ji Yu smiled and said, "Because I feel safe when I'm by your side."
Jiang Yu didn't say anything. But she shifted over, making room for Ji Yu beside her.
This summer was long, long enough for two wounded souls to slowly draw closer and warm each other.

The price is not very clear. How old is this background? A week's worth of meals, although the cafeteria is not delicious

I didn't see what it said in the introduction, so I almost thought it was a romance novel. The second time I read it, I took another look and realized it was a double heroine. I almost missed this beautiful book.
