Xiangjiang River Flows Eastward

Liu Ruyu, a woman from Changsha during the Republic of China, and Xiao Hu, a young man from a wealthy family, were college classmates and lovers. Their relationship was strongly opposed by Xiao Hu's mother. Under the interference of his mother, Xiao Hu fell in love with someone else. Hongwei fell in love with Ruyu at first sight during an encounter, and he launched a passionate pursuit of Ruyu. Wu Ming was Hongwei's good friend, but he knew that Hongwei loved Ruyu, but he fought to steal her love. Hongwei therefore went south to Guangzhou to attend Whampoa Military Academy, but was killed in a mission. Ruyu immediately joined the revolution.
