National Fate: Defeat Monsters to Claim Rewards, Get a Hundredfold Return

The abyssal rift swallowed the whole city. My mom was inside, too.

Other people kill monsters and get points. When I kill monsters, a panel pops up:

“Slain a first-tier abyssal beast. Settlement multiplier ×12, national destiny points +120, personal attributes returned +24.”

Slay an enemy above your rank, and the multiplier doubles; keep taking them down, and critical hits chain together.

The whole North China Theater is talking about it: some lunatic keeps targeting high-tier monsters, and his points are shooting up like a scrolling feed.

Only I know that every time the panel explodes with rewards, I get one step closer to the truth about my mom’s disappearance.

As for the female doctor who always steps in front of me at the crucial moment...

She predicts three seconds ahead. I cash in a hundredfold.

The day I fight my way through all nine levels of the abyss, there’ll be only one name on the first page of the global rankings.
