Great Ming: From the Start of the Jiajing Reign, I Urged My Father to Become a Loyal Official

When I opened my eyes, I was Yan Xu, grandson of Yan Song and son of Yan Shifan.

The kindly father smiling at me was none other than the Ming dynasty’s most notorious traitor. Right in front of me, he was telling his trusted aide, “Send a letter to Feng Bao. Have him beat Zhou Yunyi to death.”

As someone who had transmigrated with a history degree, I knew exactly what would happen if that letter went out: Zhou Yunyi would be killed at Meridian Gate, the upright officials and the Yan faction would become bitter enemies, and my dear father would be beheaded in the street. My entire Yan family would be...

No! I had to save him. I had to save this family!

“Father, wait!” I grabbed Yan Shifan by the sleeve. “You can’t send that letter!”

Yan Shifan raised an eyebrow. “You rebellious brat, are you going to lecture your father like those upright officials?”

I steadied myself and whispered in his ear, “Father, I dreamed about the thirty-ninth year of the Jiajing reign last night... What do you think I saw?”

From this day on, I, Yan Xu, had only one goal: to make my father a better man!
