After Loading into a Horror Game, I Became the Worst Witch

[Horror game + all are big shots + no CP]

On the day the horror game arrived, Lin Wu was working overtime on a proposal.

Others awakened superpowers, got legendary gear, and slaughtered their way through instances. Her phone flashed a notification: [Congratulations on unlocking the hidden class: Witch. First, enter the study room and memorize the basic spells. You may not leave until you’ve learned them.]

While others screamed and ran for their lives, she memorized spells. While others teamed up to fight bosses, she brewed potions. While everyone else became famous across the internet, the chat flooded with comments: “Useless witch,” “Tortoise witch,” “When is this woman going to die?”

Lin Wu: Fine, I’m bad at this. I admit it.

That is, until her teammates are assembled: a programmer with social anxiety, a retired athlete with a bad leg, a blind makeup artist, and a mute who can’t speak. The most disabled team in the game. The chat laughs itself silly: “Will this team even last three days?”

Three days later, the instance boss is hauling a train away in the middle of the night.

The deaf one hears the flow of data and rewrites the rules. The blind one locks onto enemies with pinpoint accuracy in the dark. The mute smashes the System barrier with one punch. The one with a bad leg unleashes three seconds of explosive power and wipes out the whole field. Between the five of them, they can’t put together a pair of good eyes, ears, or legs, but together they’re a team of max-level big shots and total villains.

Lin Wu smears potion across the boss’s face with her left hand and blows a hole through the ceiling with a spell in her right. The livestream comments change from “Just die already” to “Sister Wu, carry me to victory!”

When witch hunters place a bounty on her head across the entire internet, she pulls out the last page of her witch’s book, the words Adela left her: “Let them come. You’re a witch. Who have you ever been afraid of?”

No overpowered golden finger to brute-force everything, just useless teammates huddling together for warmth. No saccharine romance, just the bond of risking your life for someone who says, “I’ve got your back.”

The internet’s squad of lunatics: every one of them a show-off. If you don’t like it, come fight us.
