Lin Manman is transported into the body of a sent-down youth. Faced with grueling farm work, she decides to win over the most fearsome brigade captain, Gu Liting. Rather than tough it out, she waits until Gu Liting is around to call out in a sweet, pitiful voice and shed tears. The original heroine, Xiuer, works herself to the bone in a frenzy of competition and mocks Lin Manman as a woman of loose morals. But the tough, battle-hardened Gu Liting can't bear to see a single blister form on Lin Manman's snow-white hands, so he takes over all her work. To make sure his pampered wife can eat meat and wear a Bragi dress, Captain Gu goes into an all-out money-making frenzy, turning a heart-wrenching story set in a harsh era into a sweet romance centered on his wife's exclusive love.
