The Beloved Concubine’s Daily Life in the Palace

[Palace and Household Intrigue + A Slow-Building Romance + Light Comedy + Devoted Love Later On + Sweet HE]

Her cousin had been a concubine consort in Prince Rui’s residence for years without bearing a child. For the sake of the family, her uncle petitioned for an imperial decree and forcibly packed Zhiqing off to Prince Rui’s residence.

Zhiqing expected to enter the depths of household intrigue, but her cousin, her new superior, was even more laid-back than she was and assigned her no tasks at all. Instead, boxes of gold coins kept piling up one after another.

The other concubines in the residence treated her with disdain and made snide remarks at every turn:

The prince rewarded her with silk and jewels? He was only saving face for the principal consort.

The prince promoted her? It was all because of her father’s position at court.

The prince spent every night in her courtyard? He only wanted her to bear a child for the principal consort to raise!

The rumors never stopped, but year after year, the boxes of gold and silver became hers, the prince’s wholehearted devotion was hers, and children gathered around her knees. She even became empress.

Through the long years, the two walked side by side, their love unchanged.
