Lin Yang is famous at No. 7 Middle School for never sitting still. He likes to doze off in class, and his desk is always stuffed with lollipops.
When the second-year classes are reshuffled, he gets the last seat in the back row by the window. Before he’s even settled in, Gu Qing walks over, wearing a white shirt and glasses: the top student in their grade and student council president. His desk is always immaculate, with even his pen tips pointing in the same direction.
One desk, one dividing line, and two completely different boys become deskmates.
At first they’re constantly at odds, but gradually they discover that beneath each other’s polished exterior lie private troubles and burdens.
From a bag of soy milk left at the corner of a desk, to quiet weekends in the library, glances by the sports field, and solutions worked out on scratch paper…
As they go through their days side by side, the two boys slowly learn to hold each other’s vulnerability and grow into braver versions of themselves.
A high school story of companionship and growing up.
