Three Days Without My Medication, I Marry by Contract to Save Myself

Business queen Su Wanqing is reborn in the 1980s as a frail, pampered young woman from a once-prominent scholarly family in Shanghai. To protect her family, she is forced into a marriage alliance with Lu Yushen, the cold-blooded “Living Hades” rumored to haunt the capital.

On their wedding night, the upright, stern man tosses her an agreement. “We’ll be married in name only and stay out of each other’s business. We’ll divorce amicably in two years.”

Su Wanqing happily signs and promptly moves into a separate room. By day, she builds her career, drafts designs, works the sewing machine, and takes a group of demobilized soldiers by storm in the business world, making a fortune. She assumes she can simply enjoy a peaceful, quiet life.

But the stern officer, so disciplined and proper, who promised not to interfere in her affairs, starts looking at her differently. When others give her a hard time, he appears like a godsend. “Who dares lay a hand on my woman?”

When she’s tired, he brings her a basin of hot water and kneels to wash her feet. Until one stormy night.

Su Wanqing looks at the door he has kicked open and the man advancing toward her, eyes bloodshot.

“Colonel Lu, you’re breaking our agreement.” She has nowhere left to retreat, pinned against the cold wall.

His rough fingertip brushes her lips, his voice unbearably husky. “Boss Su, I tore up that worthless piece of paper long ago. Now I’m claiming every last one of my lawful rights as your husband, with interest.”
