A High School Girl Reincarnates as a Monstrous Fish, Devouring the Myriad Clans of the Mountains and Seas

[Funny heroine] [Reincarnation] [Classic of Mountains and Seas setting] [Coming of age]

Chu Ruoxi, a high school student who had just survived the college entrance exams, accidentally fell into the sea while vacationing at the beach. When she opened her eyes, she had reincarnated as a strange winged wenyao fish, plunged into a desolate river teeming with mythical beasts. With no golden finger from the start, and only a basic level panel, she was so hungry she had to chew moss to survive. Her attempts to catch tiny shrimp repeatedly ended in failure, and a giant catfish several levels above her tore her fin, nearly leaving her dead at the bottom of the river.

In a desperate situation, she stumbled upon the secret to survival: devouring strange beasts let her steal their skills and attributes. She picked off venomous scorpions and fought dragon crocodiles, leveling up again and again. At level ten, she reached an evolutionary crossroads. Instead of following the path of a purely aquatic creature, she chose to become a land-roaming bog wenyao, able to live both on land and in water. She grew webbed hands and learned to launch mud balls from a distance.

The swamps concealed ferocious beasts, the land was home to beastfolk, and colossal creatures far above her level roamed everywhere. With her heaven-defying ability to evolve by devouring others, she swam the depths, soared through the skies, and strode across the land. From a little fish that anyone could prey on, she gradually devoured every race, set the entire desolate wilderness in turmoil, and rose to the top of the world.
