I was a doctor, and I took over the ancient town my parents left behind.
Just as it was on the verge of going under, I unexpectedly opened a passage through time and space.
On this side of the city wall were modern tourists checking in and filming short videos;
on the other side was Ningguta, a bitterly cold place of exile, where tens of thousands of exiles from ancient times were suffering from hunger and cold.
The tourists marveled: “The NPCs here are incredible actors. The realistic battle scenes are so convincing they’re terrifying!”
The people from the past marveled: “Let’s play along. The invisible silver these people spend could buy us rice, flour, cooking oil, and other essentials!”
They say a doctor who can’t run an ancient town isn’t a good doctor. Well, I refuse to believe it.
On one hand, I pretend to be an ordinary scenic-area manager, dealing with tourists who come to check in.
On the other, I lead the people from the past in reclaiming land and building infrastructure, while resisting the imperial cavalry.
I’ll protect this little haven!
