Wang Pinghe
Nicknames: Xiao Hunzi, Xiao Ping, Brother Ping
Hometown: Wafangdian, Dalian, Liaoning. Active in circles around Dalian, Anshan, and Yingkou in and around the 1990s.
Nearly six feet tall and solidly built, he is neither burly nor fearsome, yet carries an imposing presence. His features are neat and handsome, and he always keeps himself looking sharp. With his short hair carefully groomed, he comes across as steady and reserved. He never puts on airs, but no one dares underestimate him. His closest and most trusted men are Xiao Junzi, nicknamed Tibetan Mastiff, along with Jiang Tao, Ma Li, Er Hong, and others. Their numbers are small, but every one of them is bold, dependable, and quick to act.
He and Dalian’s Duan Futao, known as Brother Duan, are old acquaintances who have crossed paths many times. Both operate in southern Liaoning, and they show one another respect and lend each other a hand when trouble arises.
Rather than making a show of gathering hundreds of men, he favors a lean, elite crew. He doesn’t rely on sheer numbers to intimidate people, but has established himself in Wafangdian through his reputation and ability to get things done, earning respect in both the underworld and legitimate circles. Wang Pinghe may not be among the most powerful figures, but he is the most reliable ally from the northeast.
He doesn’t chase empty fame or covet wealth. He lives by loyalty and handles affairs with composure.
Fierce when the occasion calls for it, warm toward others, and proud to the bone, Xiao Ping is the big man of Wafangdian who always keeps his word!
