985 Graduate student Chen Yuanzhi woke up lying on the snowfield in Northeast China in 1920.
It's 30 degrees below zero, surrounded by wolves, and there's only a one-yuan coin in his pocket.
With a double major in mechanical engineering and economics, he survived the ice and snow, went all the way north to the Soviet Union, worked as a railway worker to the Communist International, and became a master with 15-year-old Paul Korchagin. Together they experienced road construction, civil war, love and a full fourteen years of revolution.
In the Soviet area, he slapped the table with Li De in front of him: "Fortress versus fortress, you are banging the Red Army's life against the wall!"
He was in charge of logistics during the Long March, and every pontoon bridge across the Chishui River had his footprints. On the Taihang Mountains, he led the people to build an arsenal, used railroad tracks to make swords, and used grenades to blow up the Japanese troops.
Some people say that he is the "father of the Red Army's military industry", while others say that he is the "money bag of the base area".
