Synopsis

[Younger, straightforward puppy-like pursuer × sharp-tongued but soft-hearted older partner]

Nan Guan thinks he has hidden it well.

He may be sharp-tongued, stubborn, and difficult to get along with. But the moment he sees Qin Shenhe, he clings to him, acting bright-eyed, cheerful, and pitiful, calling out to him over and over in an affectionate voice.

No one knows that the person who died saving him ten years ago was Qin Shenhe’s father.

He thinks Qin Shenhe doesn’t know, either.

Qin Shenhe pretends not to hear or understand.

He rejects Nan Guan’s advances and warmth, keeping things strictly professional and polite. It is as if that accident never happened, as if they don’t even know each other.

One is desperate to make amends.

The other is desperate to keep his distance.

But some debts, left unpaid for ten years, have to be settled face-to-face.

When the barrier between them is finally broken, who will be unable to let go, and who has already moved beyond guilt and begun to depend on the other?

Mutual healing; reunion after years apart; campus; younger pursuer; angst; happy ending

(The younger pursuer has never been with anyone; the older partner has had a boyfriend, but they will break up later, and they never had sex.)
