The Swordsman of Beimen Village

The blade was long and naturally curved, like the sharpest tooth of a wild beast. Its surface was as black as ink, with a line of tiny blood-red characters engraved upon it: “Heaven is unkind, and so the Dao is distant. The gods are ruthless, and so they attain eternal life.”

Beimen Village was a remote little hamlet known for its “beautiful scenery and simple, honest folk.”

A lonely, destitute boy nicknamed Donkey Hoof happened upon a rusty blade by chance. From that day on, he embarked on a road of no return.
