[Nonhuman Cat Top x Amnesiac, Beautiful but Wretched Bottom | One-on-One | Happy Ending | Bottom-Centric]
Before he turned twenty, Zhu Yanci was a beloved child, cherished by everyone around him.
His parents were open-minded. They weren't rich, but their warm home was the envy of everyone who saw it.
Then a car accident crushed all his happiness to pieces.
Clutching his parents' memorial portraits, he cried until he could barely breathe. But the moment his tears ran dry, he saw a “person” floating in midair.
While sorting through his parents' belongings, fate dealt him another heavy blow: he wasn't their biological child at all.
His parents' deaths were suspicious, and vengeful spirits haunted him. What could a student who had only just gotten into college do to uncover the truth?
Just as despair was about to swallow him and he had no idea what to do, the limping black cat he had fed for a month outside the campus suddenly hooked its paw into his pant leg.
The black cat looked up. His haggard face was reflected in its amber eyes, and when it opened its mouth, a young man's low, hoarse voice came out:
“I can help you uncover the truth and deal with the problems you're facing.”
“In exchange, you only need to... do me one small favor.”
With nowhere else to turn, Zhu Yanci agreed. From then on, he spent his days uncovering the truth and solving supernatural cases with the black cat.
But as time went on, Zhu Yanci felt the cat's gaze growing more and more heated, as if it were looking at an old lover returned from the dead.
Then one night, the black cat took human form and cornered him against the wall. Its fingertips gently rubbed the old scar on the back of his neck, and it bowed its head, helplessly burying its face in the crook of his neck as it murmured:
“Please, don't forget me again.”
