[Ocean Survival] [Mechanical Island] [Scrap Reconstruction] [Beast Taming and Farming] [Natural Disasters] [Cosmic Horror] [Territory Upgrades]
All of humanity is cast into an endless ocean. Your starting vehicle almost determines how long you can survive.
Some lucky people draw an ironclad battleship equipped with cannons from the start. Others get a high-speed sailboat that races the wind, or a ship whose ram can tear low-tier sea beasts apart.
Chen Yu, however, doesn’t get a ship. He gets a scrapped mechanical island that will sink in six hours.
Water floods the island, the boiler is out, and the propulsion system is wrecked. In seventy-two hours, the Black Fog will begin to close in, driving anyone who falls behind into the hunting grounds of deep-sea monsters.
At the brink of despair, the black key his father left behind before disappearing awakens the island’s core sovereignty.
Chen Yu can dismantle wreckage and salvage its materials, then reconstruct the junk into whatever mechanical modules he needs most. But every dismantling comes at a cost, and before each upgrade, he must first fight the sea for the raw materials.
And so, a Furnaceplate Crab moves into the boiler room, igniting the island’s core with its flames; a Tidal Ray connects to the waterwheel to power the propulsion system; and a Mountainback Turtle becomes the island’s outer armor, bearing the brunt of towering waves. The farm module grows crops, the beast pens raise animals, the shipyard builds vessels, and the turrets defend the island.
While everyone else is still adding a second deck to their rafts, Chen Yu has already made an iron island open its eyes and sail toward the forbidden zone beyond the Black Fog.
And in the White Reef forbidden zone beyond the Black Fog, the final warning his father left behind is waiting for him: what lies beneath the White Reef is no island at all.
(Hardcore survival, with disasters and contamination escalating throughout. This is not a relaxing island getaway.)
It's well written, but a bit hard to understand.
