I Left with Nothing but the Kids, and My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Get Back Together

[Modern romance + revenge with satisfying payback + keeping the child, not the father + desperate pursuit of his wife + cutting off his manhood as an apology + no saintly heroine] After three years as a member of the Li family, Su Qingleng finally sees the truth: Her wealthy husband, Li Yunzhou, has only ever had eyes for his one true love. Lin Nian’an, a “pure, unmaterialistic schoolteacher,” stands on the ruins of her marriage, looking delicate and pitiful, with an innocent smile. Su Qingleng doesn’t make a scene. She secretly gives birth to a son and raises him on her own. You’re in love? Then enjoy it. Just leave me out of it. Until that woman uses Li Yunzhou’s favoritism to force her way in at her mother-in-law’s birthday banquet, claiming to be pregnant… Su Qingleng smiles faintly and calmly tosses a divorce agreement onto the table. “I’m granting your wish. No need to thank me.” Everyone thinks she’s giving up and accepting defeat. Then Lin Nian’an tries to eliminate all future threats by orchestrating a gas explosion that nearly kills Su Qingleng’s own child… Su Qingleng’s smile vanishes. At a lavish family banquet livestreamed across the internet, she publicly reveals the paternity test and audio recordings proving everything. “You want to climb to the top? I’ll show you a faster way: prison.” Lin Nian’an miscarries and goes to prison. When Li Yunzhou learns that he nearly caused his own son’s death, he has a mental breakdown. He kneels outside the operating room and personally cuts off his manhood to prove his devotion. Su Qingleng glances at the broadcast and turns off the TV. “What does that have to do with me?” She takes her son by the hand and walks toward a bright, sunny future. Behind her are a scumbag’s lifelong regret and an irreparable loss.
