Lin Fan is a lowly water carrier among the sect's menial servants. After clashing with his foreman, he is sent to the mines as a slave.
At the Yinshan Mine, human lives are worth less than grass. The weak are prey to the strong, and the powerful act with impunity.
The young Lin Fan swears he will never be a slave!
In the pitch-black mine tunnels, a mysterious gourd helps him refine pills, grow stronger, and fight. After enduring countless brushes with death, he eventually becomes one of the mine's most powerful figures.
Later, he reunites with his senior sister, and affection quietly blooms between them. But the immortal realm is merciless, and hardship follows hardship.
Lin Fan resolves to sweep aside every obstacle, for the love in his heart and for justice in the mortal world...
