On her first day at work, Chi En met Wu Zan at the company reception desk.
He only reminded her to turn off the Wi-Fi, but she remembered his name.
Twenty-two-year-old Chi En fell in love at first sight; thirty-year-old Wu Zan fell for her over time. From sharing an umbrella on a rainy night, to weekend trips to the bookstore, to a confession at an observation deck, it took them almost a year to get together. They kept their relationship outside the office, and no one knew.
Later, Chi En quit her job and spent four or five months looking for work. She also began living with Wu Zan. Their love moved from dates to everyday meals, bringing with it rent, housework, self-respect, boundaries, and two families with different ideas about the future.
This is a story about falling in love, and about two people learning not to make decisions for each other or use self-sacrifice to prove their love. In the end, they sit down and seriously discuss the rest of their lives.
