The DODO adventure team received a mysterious invitation letter from Bangkok. The sender was Mr. Somchai, a well-known local antique doll collector. He said that something strange had happened to a batch of "fairy dolls" he had collected recently - the doll's hair would grow on its own in the middle of the night, its head would silently turn to the door, and children's sobbing could be heard from time to time in the room. What's even weirder is that everyone who touches the doll will have the same nightmare: a little girl wearing traditional Thai clothes, waving slowly towards them in the mist.
Charlie took Duoduo and the others to Bangkok and shuttled between the lively night markets and floating markets, only to discover that things were far more than just haunted. The mysterious altar in an abandoned temple, the miniature device hidden in the doll base, the extremely expensive Buddhist amulet trade... All clues point to a puppet maker who has lived in seclusion for many years. He became addicted to doll making due to the disappearance of his daughter, but was used to cover up an illegal transaction, and those "supernatural phenomena" were just a cover-up created by him using voice control and luminous paint.
When the truth was revealed, Charlie did not expose everything, but handed over a yellowed missing person notice. The puppet maker finally burst into tears - it turned out that the daughter he was looking for had already lived a peaceful life far away. The terror faded away, and what was left was a Thai story about waiting and letting go.
