New student Jiang Wen was assigned to Room 404 in Dormitory Building Seven.
The problem was, Building Seven had no fourth floor.
Yet the registration System, his campus card, and the dorm supervisor’s log all proved the same thing: he had already checked in at nine that morning.
Room 404 had four beds, and a set of rules.
Stop counting when you reach the fifth person; don’t look in the mirror after lights out; never open the door for “Uncle Dorm Supervisor” during room inspections; and whatever you do, don’t mention those two words in the dorm.
Jiang Wen soon realized that the scariest thing here wasn’t the ghosts. It was the school’s procedures.
Bed assignments, cleanliness inspections, identity photos, accommodation records... Any rule could get you killed.
And the senior in the white shirt who kept warning him from outside the door seemed to have been waiting for him to move into Room 404 all along.
