Seeing Through the Ages

Lu Zhaochen is a tombstone repairman in Qibei City, scraping by on repairs to broken steles.

On the eve of the Wilderness-Calming Rite, he unexpectedly awakens the power of [Illuminating the Past]. By touching a broken stele, he can see history erased by the passage of time, and even borrow the methods of the ancients in battle. But on this blank stele, he also sees two names: his father, missing for seven years, and his own, with death awaiting him tomorrow night.

To change his fate and find his father, he takes a rubbing of the list of names and flees the city, plunging into a wilderness where an ancient era lies buried. The immortal sects want him dead, the dynasty wants him silenced, and only the souls in the broken steles lend him their power.

Each truth he uncovers makes him stronger, and brings him one step closer to forgetting who he is.

As the ancient methods of countless ages return to the world, Lu Zhaochen asks only one question: should a few decide what all living beings are allowed to remember, or should everyone see the past with their own eyes?
