The Emperor's Feisty Cousin: Who Do I Have to Fear?

(Instant gratification, face-slapping and sharp-tongued retorts, palace intrigue, and faux cousins)

Shen Baojiao is the legitimate daughter of the Duke of Zhenguo's household.

She is also the emperor's first cousin.

She has a fiery temper.

If anyone crosses her, she gives as good as she gets.

The new emperor has only just ascended the throne, and the court is unstable.

An imperial edict summons her to the palace and names her Consort Tang.

She has no golden finger,

and no hidden System.

At her back stands the Duke of Zhenguo's household,

and in her head are the military classics she has read since childhood.

On her first day in the palace,

the Noble Consort sends someone to put her in her place.

Shen Baojiao stands at the palace gate

and verbally trounces the visitor,

showing no regard even for the Noble Consort's dignity.

The other consorts want to use her to make an example of someone,

while the Empress Dowager's faction wants her dead.

She meets every move with a counter,

and deals with whoever causes trouble.

At first, the emperor sees her only as a pawn.

But later,

the way he looks at her

slowly begins to change.

No one ever expected

the one who would finally claim the throne's phoenix seat

to be this pampered young lady.
