Lin Xiazhi × Lin Shen
A sunny, “sensitive” guy with a wooden streak and a knack for jokes × a cool, peacock-proud man who hides his feelings
Lin Xiazhi is the most oblivious block of wood in the entire second year of high school.
During the second week of school, he started showing up at her house every morning at exactly 7:08, claiming it was “on his way.” In reality, he wore a different shirt every day and spent even more time styling his hair than she did.
Her only thought was: This guy has quite the elaborate routine for bumming a ride.
Lin Shen had been watching her since the first day he sat beside her. He watched her yawn so hard her jaw nearly popped out, and watched her fail to notice that he deliberately timed those two minutes he waited in the hallway every morning.
He waited a year and a half, until graduation day in their final year of high school, before finally confessing. Lin Xiazhi froze for three seconds.
Later, he went abroad. Then he came back. And after that, he found a “boyfriend” by her side.
Lin Shen leaned against the doorframe, looked at the fake boyfriend for three seconds, and smiled.
He’d never competed with anyone in his life, except for one idiot whose reaction time was long enough to circle the globe three times.
No big deal. If he could even predict when she’d yawn, surely he could deal with a counterfeit boyfriend?
The greatest distance in the world isn’t living in different countries. It’s finally getting the girl to see the light, only for her to fall for someone else.
But it’s fine. He can wait. He’s already waited two years.
