Su Yumo is a little cat demon. Not long after taking human form, she’s hit by a car and transmigrates.
She wakes up as a gold-digging, heartless woman in a novel who dates the male lead and starts an online relationship with the villain, only to meet a gruesome end.
To stay alive, Su Yumo has no choice but to accept the System’s mission: maintain the original character’s persona, keep her cat-demon identity secret, sweet-talk the male lead while keeping the villain on the hook, follow the plot to the end, collect a huge reward, and then bow out.
Strangely, Su Yumo’s mission goes incredibly smoothly from the very start.
The aloof male lead, Jiang Ciyan, is attentive and caring toward Su Yumo from their very first meeting, and they spend every night together.
The moody villain, Pei Du, also lets Su Yumo have her way with him after she starts winning him over.
Su Yumo gives her fluffy cat ears a shake and thinks confidently, [Winning them over is so easy, silly humans.]
The System is just as delighted. [You’re amazing, sweetie! They’re completely wrapped around your little finger!]
With the System’s praise, Su Yumo grows even more confident.
What Su Yumo doesn’t notice is that the two tender, adoring gazes are growing more and more obsessive.

After completing all her missions, Su Yumo happily waits for her reward to arrive.
But the System never shows up.
Su Yumo is bewildered.
Just then, the door opens. Jiang Ciyan leans against the doorframe, staring at Su Yumo’s tail. The feverish obsession in his eyes sends a chill through her. “Where are you going, sweetie?”
Every hair on Su Yumo’s body stands on end, and she tries to flee in a panic.
Instead, she runs straight into Pei Du’s arms. He holds her tight, kisses the tip of her ear, and places the System, now materialized in the real world, in her palm. He sighs softly, “You’re so silly, darling. You’re only trying to run away now?”
