This Street Isn’t on the Map

Lin Shu works as a city map proofreader, deleting streets that “should not exist” from the map. Then a resident reports that an entire street has vanished, yet their mother is still trapped inside. Following an old map, Lin Shu steps onto Huaian Street, where the residents have lived for twenty years and every clock has stopped at 9:17. In an old group photo, he sees his unborn sister, Lin Yao.

He discovers that the world contains two conflicting versions of reality. Every correction means that a street, a group of people, or even an entire life is erased for good. Yet people live and love in the reality labeled “wrong,” and it is just as real. More terrifying still, Lin Yao exists only in that erroneous reality.

As cities, towns, and eventually the entire world begin to overlap, Lin Shu must decide: obey the stable map and erase his sister with his own hands, or draw a map that has never existed before for everyone who “should not exist”?
