Synopsis of My Ex Used a Painting to Lure Me Back Home: Shen Qingmei, an expert in antique appraisal, returns to Linjiang after three years abroad to handle a dispute over forged antique paintings and calligraphy, only to unexpectedly reunite with her former lover, Lu Shiyan. He now controls over half the shares in the group involved in the case, and their once-tender past is shattered by their business rivalry. In a sealed storage room, Lu Shiyan obsessively keeps her there, accusing her of leaving him to suffer through three years of searching for her. Rumors about a foreign business partner send jealousy surging through him. Shen Qingmei appears distant and indifferent, but the love in her heart has never completely faded. Reason and desire keep tearing her in opposite directions.
Their breakup was no simple misunderstanding. It was entangled with the murky power struggles of the antiques industry and old grievances between their families. As they maneuver through antique-forgery schemes and business rivalries, the former lovers are forced to face off again and again. On one side is Shen Qingmei's professional integrity and determination to uphold the standards of the antiques trade. On the other is Lu Shiyan's unchanged devotion, hidden beneath his forceful possessiveness. A rainstorm sets their reunion in motion. Amid fake and genuine paintings and schemes in the open and behind the scenes, they must unravel layers of conspiracy and face the truth behind their separation, resolving the heartache that has divided them for three years and allowing their buried love to blossom once more amid the turbulent undercurrents.
