[Bittersweet Restraint | Intense Push and Pull | Second Chance Romance | Mutual Salvation and a Groveling Pursuit | False Substitute | Slightly Yandere]

Blurb:

Pine smoke veils the hills; white plum blossoms hide the frost.

At twenty-two, Lin Wu is a shadow living beneath Jiang Lingzhou’s roof. She keeps the fierce aura and tender heart of an S+ Alpha hidden, living humbly in Jiang Lingzhou’s cool, aloof world as her assistant in name and lover in private. They embrace in the dark and steal tender moments out of sight. She is a secret unknown to the world, a humble heart bound by the shackles of being a substitute.

She thought years of constant companionship could warm the lofty plum blossom, but what awaited her was a marriage alliance trending online, endless misunderstandings, and a fire that consumed their past. The smoke tore open sealed memories and crushed her last lingering hope. She lost her voice, took a new name, and became a misty silhouette in an ancient town. From then on, Lin Wu, once attached to the red plum, was no more. Only the aloof, solitary painter Wuyin remained.

When they meet again a year later, her gaze is distant, her hands speak in silence, and she refuses to look back.

Only then, at thirty-five, does Jiang Lingzhou finally realize she has lost the only light of her life. The once-proud, self-controlled goddess of the business world falls into the dust, awkwardly lowering her head as she pursues her relentlessly…

Mist rises to conceal the mountains and rivers; plum blossoms fall as they wait for their beloved to return.

Fortunately, the cold mist finally lifts and the frost and snow melt away. Her white plum blossom has been waiting all along for her to come home.
