Specializing in putting all kinds of "rule-breakers" in their place.
When others enter rule-based horror games, they play to escape.
When Chen Mo enters a rule-based horror game, he plays spot-the-difference.
Because he is the only man in the entire containment center who can see [Exception Clauses].
Chen Mo, a graduate student in folklore, writes papers by day and is the containment center's "Exception," designation C-2026-07, by night.
Ten years ago, his parents entered the "Ferry Crossing Forbidden Zone," leaving behind only half of an old photograph. In the background stood an upside-down lighthouse. On the back, a line of words in blood read: "Don't come."
Since then, he has lived as middleware between two worlds:
A classmate arranged like a doll in an assembly hall? He tears them apart.
A wordless book bleeding blue ink in the library? He writes in it.
A shadow identical to him crawling out of the screen at an old cinema? He curses at it.
A child with wet footprints always clinging to his feet, forever trying to drag his shadow into a crack in the wall? He...?
His ranks progress from Perceiver to Understander to Master.
The price is that every time he uses his golden finger, he forgets a little more about who he is.
"So what if I forget?" Chen Mo tosses his medical report into the trash. "The day I flatten Ferry Crossing, the rules will have to get out of my way."
Now, the Class A Forbidden Zone assessment is imminent.
The kind that can wipe out half a city.
And he's already close to forgetting who he is.
