Shen Du, a former professor of criminal psychology, lost all his case files and colleagues in a fire. Then he was chosen by the Crime Museum. Calm and rational, he is nevertheless haunted by a deep obsession with the unfinished. He believes every cold case is a problem left unsolved, and someone must finish writing its answer.
In a parallel universe stands the Crime Museum, where every unsolved cold case takes physical form as an exhibit. Each exhibit is a world of its own, preserving all the physical evidence and emotional residue from the time the crime took place. The protagonist is a museum curator who has been recruited to enter these exhibit spaces, interpret the traces and emotional residue at the scene, reconstruct the truth, and solve the cases.
