Huang Lingxi, a herb-gathering girl born with a meridian seed, can sense the spiritual meridians of the Three Realms. Three hundred years ago, the spiritual meridians of the Heavenly Abyss dried up. Ao Xu, the demon emperor, used a forbidden technique to absorb an abandoned meridian, but planted a curse in its core. The curse is now spreading through the meridian network across the Three Realms.
Only someone born with a meridian seed can purify the curse.
Thus Huang Lingxi is drawn into this fated struggle. She takes Qi Jin, a demon cast out by his kind, deep into the Rift of the Underworld in search of medicine. Ao Xu lures her to the Heavenly Abyss to inherit its spiritual meridian, while Lu Lin, the Human Emperor, asks her to stay.
She undergoes three trials, uncovers the truth behind the curse, and ultimately merges with the meridian seed to become the ruler of the Heavenly Abyss, restoring the spiritual meridians of the Three Realms. The price is that she has less than thirty years left to live.
Qi Jin uses a forbidden technique to share his lifespan with her, and stays by her side for the rest of their lives.
