Everyday Life in Dai Jia Lane

2018, Chongqing, Daijia Lane.

When the fog rolled in from the Jialing River, nine wounded people came into the same alley from different directions.

An orphaned writer is afraid to let anyone know who he is.

A bar owner uses passion to fight back against the world's disappointments.

A gang leader has turned his conscience into guilt.

A girl from the mountains fleeing an arranged marriage hides her calluses in her palm.

Two lovers who eloped are so poor they have nothing but each other.

A washed-up singer drowns his voice in alcohol.

A retired trainee has locked away the past in an apron.

They don't know this alley will turn them into a family.

They also don't know that when the fog lifts eight years later, some will leave, some will return, and some... will never come back.

Daijia Lane isn't long, but it's long enough for them to walk through a whole lifetime.
