Synopsis

A zombie virus sweeps across the globe, infecting only primates. Ninety percent of humanity becomes the walking dead.

There is no unified superpower and no organized army coming to the rescue. In a world dotted with small nations, government systems collapse overnight, and any hope of rescue is utterly lost.

Zhou Rui has just finished his college entrance exams and barely makes it back to his mountain village, only to find that all the elderly people left behind have been infected and died. He is all alone.

On the brink of death, he swallows the crystal core of a mutated monkey and unexpectedly awakens the ability to control and modify plants.

Pea shooters can blow zombies' heads off from a distance, thorny walls are impenetrable, crop-boosting vines fill the granaries, and mind-controlling chives can control zombies.

While everyone else fights over food and chokes down instant noodles in the apocalypse, hiding in corners and barely clinging to life,

Zhou Rui farms and stockpiles supplies back home, controls zombies by controlling plants, and turns the dead against the dead. His army sweeps away the zombie hordes, and he builds the first oasis of the apocalypse!

For the rest of his life, he will use these plants to rebuild a new order atop the wasteland.

A Dark Horse in Apocalypse Survival: Gritty, Smart, and Highly Recommended

Looking for books similar to Black Rain 2027. This book has no cheat powers and is completely grounded. It's full of tests of human nature and social intricacies, and everything feels like it could really happen. Every character feels alive. The protagonist is low-key, humane, highly intelligent, and socially savvy. The delicate writing really holds it all together.
